Slow learners and children
Getting going with Getting Things Done is a “slow learners” path for me – as I first got to read David Allen’s book in 2006. Getting my things done with GTD has now become integrated into how I raise 3 children alone.
Since I started introducing the ideas and priciples of GTD to the kids – I have been running to catch up with them. It’s not me, but my kids teaching here.
Attending David Allen’s 2008 Road Map seminar in London gave me the inspiration to just get going in sharing our GTD adventures. And above all the fun we are having, doing our things and sorting our stuff.
I was put into the driver’s seat after moving to Germany in 2006 – a new city, home, fantastic garden, 3 kids (with a rabbit each) and a business to run! The title Of David Allens’s book, suggested reading from a good friend, got me first.
I had so much to get done! Just the simple organising of my stuff saved me from drowning underneath amorphous piles of stuff, work in Holland, school, wash, ironing, cleaning, shopping, travel and gardening.
Built in reminders

“Papa we need to go through our weekly planning” is the automatic reminder I get on a Sunday evening. That is when we review our week. Just working out what we are doing when and where in the next few days and weeks.
